Happy Monday!

I know this isn't an outfit picture or anything but it is a really cute picture of my dog. I promise that later today I will have an actual post related to clothes and shoes. :) 

p.s. is anyone else reading a live blog or twitter of the WWDC? It is pretty interesting, not a lot of surprises because of the whole Gizmodo situation but kind of sad that they are having so many problems with the network. 

More Shredding!

Over Memorial weekend I went crazy shredding more shirts to wear this summer. My mom and dad stare at me strangely while I shred and they keep asking me why I am destroying all of my clothing. When I explain they just roll their eyes. Oh well! I like them and so do my friends! I am taking costume orders right now and have plans to open up an Etsy shop along with some of my other handmade goods. I want my full time job to be hosting craft parties. That would be a dream.

I got my little sister to model one of the shirts that I made (I just had to include a picture of our dog Tanner). Isn't she cute? She loves tetherball, so my parents put the tetherball pole in the place where umbrellas are suppose to go, very clever. Now we can play tetherball all the time, except that I am terrible at it.

My hair is lighter! I've always taken the lazy route when it comes to dealing with my hair. Even blow drying my hair is usually too much effort; I prefer to air dry it. Since I started working full time I realized that doesn't really go over well in a professional environment. So I have been taking more time to style and flat iron my hair - coloring was just the next step in the process.

My cousin Tanya and my sister decided that I should get highlights for summer since my hair naturally lightens in the sun. I was a little nervous at first because I had no idea what it would look like but I am really pleased with how it turned out. Thank you Tanya! (As soon as she gets her website up I will share it with you because she is a really gifted makeup artist!)

Hand Knitted (Baby) Sweater

One of my co-workers had a baby a couple of months ago and I needed a present for the baby shower. Of course I had to hand make something really cute. It is the best feeling to give someone a present that you have worked really hard on and you know they will love. 

I decided to knit this wrap sweater because all of the reviews said that it is a very easy pattern. I thought how hard can a baby sweater really be? (Before this sweater I had only knit hats and scarves.) Their definition and my definition of easy are obviously not the same because after hours and hours of knitting, ripping out sections and then re-knitting I finally finished the sweater.  I was hoping to have it done by the shower but since it took so much longer than I had anticipated, it wasn't all the way ready. But I had to get it done before the baby was born. Luckily, I finished the sweater the day after she left for maternity leave. The sweater is made out of the softest cotton and tencel blend that is perfect for delicate newborn skin.
