Stained glasses shine on my red wine

Dress: Theory (100%silk), thrifted!!!
Jacket: Emma Black, (100%silk) from the magic garage sale!
Shoes: Aldo
Lipstick: Make Up For Ever #205
Necklace: gift

This is another wonderful piece that I got from the magical garage sale of the century! I had no idea what this jacket would actually look like on because it was way to hot to try on any of the clothing but I had to get it anyway because a. it's silk b. I LOVE the beading on the sleeves! I'm glad that I bought it because I really like how it looks even if it doesn't photograph well. The dress was an amazing thrift store find because I always love Theory pieces but just can't afford them at retail price. I think that I am going to have to sell/get rid of some stuff because now my closet is bursting at the seams.

(This set of pictures is good incentive to take my pictures early in the day when I'm not so tired and wrinkled!)

What's in my makeup bag

Last night I posted "What's in my bag" and I thought that I would post a followup of "What's in my makeup bag". This is what I take to work with me so I can do my makeup in the morning at work when I get in early. The contents usually rotates depending on what makeup I am feeling for the day.

Bag: Estee Lauder, I think that my mom got this as a free gift and gave it to me
Claritin: essential to living mostly-allergy free
Assorted brushes: mostly from Target?
Eye Pencil: Wet 'n Wild Black
Hip Eyeshadow Duo: L'Oreal in Gilded, the gold side is my favorite, I use it in the corner of my eyes when I need a little shimmer
Lipstick: Make Up For Ever #205 (see previous post) from Sephora - best lipstick EVER!
Bobbypins
Blue Eyshadow: Sephora brand in Chrome N o 4
Two pairs of tweezers, not sure why there are two
Mascara: Maybelline XXL Curl Power
Lipglosses: Stila from gift pack in kitten, clear from N.Y.C. cosmetics from Target
Chapstick: Neutrogena, came with sunscreen
Under eye concealer: Clinique in Light Neutral #1 (I'm pale!)
Loose blush powder: Maybelline Mineral Powder in Gentle Pink from Target, loose powder because I always seem to drop my blush or have it break when I'm traveling and loose powder will never crack like compressed!
Eyeshadow Quads: Maybelline (again) in Stylish Smokes #04 Charcoal Smokes, #6 Amethyst Smokes, Designer Chocolates

Black Bows + Red Hearts

Shirt: birthday present; it's actually Miley Cyrus for
Max Azria but they have the exact same shirt at FF21
Skinnies: BDG, Urban Outfitters
Shoes: Steve Madden, SM store in Emeryville
Earrings: gift from friend

I wore this outfit to work today because I wanted something that would be comfortable and match my red lipstick. Waking up early is not my thing, even after months of working at my job, so I am always rushing to get out of the house. My outfits depend on my mood for the day so I can't pick them out the night before, unless I am going to a special event or someplace like Disneyland! Thursdays are my favorite day at work because one of the partners always brings in some sort of breakfast for the whole office!!! So delicious!

The Perfect Red

I went on a quest to find the perfect dark red lipstick.  After seeing all of the fall runway looks with dark red lips I knew that I needed to get one for myself.  The sales woman at Sephora pointed me in the direction of Make Up For Ever #205, a gorgeous deep red color (you can only get this color at Sephora and they sell out fast in the store!).  I managed to snag the last tube and even had to fight my friend for it.  (She decided to get MAC's Russian Red instead.) Just in the 20 minutes that I modeled it around the store I got a few compliments and people asked me which lipstick it was because they wanted it to try it too!

After wearing it to work twice, I can say that if you wear it you will get a TON of comments on it, all good ones of course (except for maybe a few creeper ones).  The color is very saturated and leaves my lips bright pink until I exfoliate them!!! I am definitely hooked on this lipstick and plan on wearing it whenever I want to feel extra glamorous. :)

The only red lipstick that I had before was Revlon 655 Scarlet Velvet.  If you are looking for a good drugstore red lipstick that might be comparable I would definitely suggest trying this Revlon color.
